Well, we are in the middle of a long weekend and if you are not too bloated from all of that BBQ, we suggest stopping by and grabbing some reading material. You know, because you have probably talked to your family a lot already and that would exhaust anyone. If everyone has a book, you might just grab a little quiet time. Sit in the woods, lie down on the beach, chill out on the porch, look mysterious at the bar...whatever you want! Might I make a few suggestions? I think you said "sure."
Here you go!
1. Granola Magazine
We currently have two different issues on the shelf and they contain a multitude of awesome pieces--fiction, graphics and more. For five dollars, get all the fun that you can handle!
2. Mary Oliver's Poetry
Pick any book by this tremendously gifted lady and enjoy the beautiful, tender descriptions of nature. Simple, accessible, amazing!
3. The Lumberjanes by Stevenson
Get that outdoors adventure without having to actually rough it. This comic has been compiled into a graphic novel and is fun for all ages. Think Girl Scouts, but with a staunch feminist aesthetic.
4. The Imperium by Kracht
Do a little South Seas travel. Eat nothing but coconut and become a nudist! Suffer terrible, terrible consequences. Based on a real guy!
5. Color Me Jane: A Jane Austen Adult Coloring Book
It is a coloring book based off of all the things that you love about Austen. Win.
